Monrovia– The opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has extended heartfelt birthday greetings to former Auditor General and renowned accountant John Sembe Morlu II, praising his contributions to public accountability, professional excellence, and national service.
In a statement issued on behalf of the party’s National Executive Committee including CDC National Chairman Janga Augustus Kowo, former President and Political Leader George Weah, and the party’s grassroots supporters, Jefferson Koijee, the Party’s Secretary-General, described Morlu as “a monument of intellectual fortitude, professional excellence, and patriotic service.”
Koijee lauded Morlu, a Certified Public Accountant and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of JS Morlu LLC, for his role in advancing transparency and accountability during his tenure as Liberia’s Auditor General.
“You are not merely a man of numbers; you are a man of principle,” Koijee said. “Where others counted coins, you counted the cost of corruption. Where others balanced ledgers, you balanced the scales of accountability before a watching nation and a witnessing world.”
Koijee also highlighted Morlu’s roots in Lofa County, describing him as one of the county’s most accomplished sons whose achievements have brought honor to both his county and the nation.

According to the CDC Secretary-General, Morlu’s leadership as Auditor General under an international agreement supported by the European Union represented more than a professional assignment, but a commitment to ensuring higher standards of governance and public accountability in Liberia.
The statement further praised Morlu’s reputation in professional and international circles, noting that he has carried Liberia’s name with distinction in boardrooms, audit institutions, and global engagements.
“As the ancient philosophers declared, a nation that does not honor its builders dishonors itself. Today, we pause to honor a man whose life has been dedicated to service, integrity, and excellence,” the former Mayor of Monrovia said.
He also wished Morlu continued good health, strength, and longevity, expressing hope that he would continue inspiring future generations in the pursuit of accountability and ethical leadership.
“Happy Birthday, Comrade John Sembe Morlu II. The Revolution salutes you,” the statement concluded.
