GBARNGA, Bong County – Official land records obtained from the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) contradict allegations circulating on social media that Bong County Senator Prince Moye secretly acquired community land in Baila Town through his brother and later transferred the property to a foreign company for financial gain.

The controversy emerged following a statement Monday by political commentator Osei Gbassakollie, who accused Senator Moye of allegedly using his brother, Sumo Moye, to acquire between 75 and 100 acres of land in Baila Town, located in Foepolu Zone, Waytuah Clan, Electoral District One, Bong County.
According to the allegations, the land was purchased from local residents and subsequently leased to a Chinese company for the construction of a factory, with claims that the Senator stood to benefit financially from the arrangement.
However, documents reviewed by FrontPage Africa tell a different story. The records indicate that the land at the center of the dispute was legally acquired by Darlington Karley through a Public Land Sale Deed issued under the authority of the Liberia Land Authority and in keeping with the provisions of the Land Rights Law of 2018.
The deed identifies Karley as the sole grantee and lawful owner of the property. It further outlines the exact boundaries and dimensions of the land and confirms that the transaction was processed through the legally established procedures governing the acquisition of public land in Liberia.
According to the documents, the land was surveyed by Bong County Resident Land Surveyor Susannah Kollie, whose office is responsible for conducting official land surveys and verifying property boundaries within the county.
Following the survey process, the application and accompanying documents were reportedly reviewed and approved by Liberia Land Authority Commissioner Mohammed Solomon before the issuance of the final deed.
The records further reveal that the property was deeded and probated through the Liberia Land Authority, thereby granting legal ownership rights to Karley. Significantly, the documentation contains no reference to Senator Moye, either as a purchaser, beneficiary, agent, witness, or stakeholder in the transaction.
