Monrovia – A new chapter in Liberia’s entertainment industry is set to unfold with the launch of Next Date, a reality dating show aimed at showcasing love, culture, and authentic storytelling.

The announcement was made Thursday during a press conference in Monrovia, where organizers introduced the show as more than mere entertainment.
They described it as a strategic platform designed to foster human connection and elevate the quality of Liberia’s media landscape.
Prince Myers Ponder, Director of the production team, stated that the Next Date reality show will bring together bold and confident singles from across the country in a quest for genuine love, while engaging audiences through compelling narrative.
The show is expected to feature first impressions, romantic challenges, real-life conversations, and unexpected twists, offering viewers a dynamic look into modern dating within the Liberian context.
Organizers emphasized that the initiative is not only about relationships but also about creating opportunities for young Liberians to express themselves and contribute to the growth of the local film and television industry.
“This is more than a show; it is a movement that celebrates connection, culture, and creativity,” Ponder said.
According to the production team, contestants will be selected nationwide. Weekly episodes will showcase dates and eliminations, supported by interactive audience engagement through social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
Filming is slated for key locations in Monrovia and other parts of the country.
The Producers have promised high-quality production standards supported by experienced creatives and strategic partnerships.
The show will also feature guest appearances from influencers, celebrities, and relationship experts. While some names remain under wraps, prominent media personality Grace Weah, popularly known as “Master Queen,” has been named the official host.
Speaking at the conference, Master Queen disclosed that participants must be between the ages of 21 and 45.
She noted that the production would remove financial barriers for those seeking love.
“If we take a brother from Waterside who wants to find love, we will take responsibility get him dressed up and take him to a bar or restaurant along with the partner we matched him with,” Weah explained.
She further noted that the show would be pre-recorded and broadcast across their various digital channels.
Beyond the romance, Weah highlighted the show’s potential to boost national pride and tourism.
“This is also about tourism it is about selling our country, Liberia, to the world, because we will be taking our dates to various sites across the country,” she said.
Registration for the program is free of charge, as organizers say their primary goal is to connect Liberians with their true partners while showcasing a positive image of the country.
“The company decided to showcase Liberia to the world in a way that allows people to express their love, and in return, they may generate revenue through viewership,” Weah added.
When questioned about the long-term vision for the project, Weah expressed confidence in the show’s sustainability through audience partnerships and a commitment to providing Liberians with high-caliber, long-term entertainment.
Next Date is poised to premiere soon on selected television and digital platforms. Organizers have called on corporate institutions and brands to partner with the initiative, noting opportunities for sponsorship, product placement, and digital promotions.
