National Commission on Disabilities Dedicates New Staff Bus to Boost Mobility, Service Delivery

Monrovia – The National Commission on Disabilities (NCD) has dedicated a brand-new 17-seater bus to improve staff mobility and strengthen service delivery across Liberia, marking another step in the institution’s ongoing reform and capacity-building efforts.

The vehicle was officially presented by the Commission’s Acting Executive Director, Apostle Dr. J. Aaron Wright Sr., alongside members of the management team during a ceremony attended by staff and guests.

Speaking at the dedication, Dr. Wright reaffirmed his commitment to servant leadership, emphasizing that his administration remains focused on improving the welfare of employees and enhancing the Commission’s ability to serve persons with disabilities.

“I have come to serve you with my heart, but not to be served,” Dr. Wright declared.

The dedication ceremony was marked by excitement and appreciation among staff members, who described the new bus as a timely intervention that will ease transportation challenges and improve operational efficiency.

According to the Commission, the acquisition of the vehicle forms part of broader institutional reforms aimed at strengthening staff welfare, increasing productivity, and ensuring the effective implementation of programs and activities nationwide.

Management noted that improved transportation will facilitate staff movement to official assignments, enhance coordination, and support outreach efforts geared toward promoting disability-inclusive development across the country.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Senior Political Advisor to President Joseph Boakai, Madam Cooper, praised the initiative, describing it as a significant investment in creating a more enabling work environment for employees of the Commission.

She commended Dr. Wright and his management team for demonstrating leadership through tangible support for staff.

According to Madam Cooper, the provision of the new bus reflects a commitment to improving staff welfare and strengthening the Commission’s capacity to advance the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.

“It takes a selfless leader to demonstrate such commitment to the people he serves,” she noted.

The National Commission on Disabilities said it remains committed to promoting equal opportunities, inclusion, accessibility, and empowerment for persons with disabilities while continuing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve public service delivery.

Officials expressed confidence that the new vehicle will contribute significantly to the Commission’s mission of providing more effective and responsive services to persons with disabilities throughout Liberia.
